Leak detectors
A leak detector avoids water damage because it observes a leak very quickly. A water alarm ensures that you are warned very early in the event of a leak or flooding. Flooding is a difficult problem to prevent, because it often happens silently. A water sensor quickly detects a leak and ensures that you are warned by a loud 85 dB alarm. This is very useful if you are asleep.
Leak detectors come with a battery with a lifespan of one to ten years. Read the packaging to see how long the battery lasts for. If the battery is almost empty, the leak detector warns you by emitting a continuous beep. It is then time to replace the battery. You are also recommended to regularly test the leak detector. Do this by placing it on a plate with some water on it. The alarm should go off.
It is recommended to place the leak detector on the floor. Place it, for example, near a washing machine, in a basement or under a sink. A leak detector does not need to be cleaned. But you can go over it with a dry cloth. Avoid getting water on the leak detector's electrical parts.
